Our story

Il y a des lieux qui traversent le temps parce qu’ils ont 
été bâtis avec amour.

Depuis 1952, La Maison du Spaghetti porte l’empreinte 
de Richard Barbe, son fondateur, dont la passion et le dévouement ont donné naissance à bien plus qu’un restaurant : un véritable lieu de rassemblement au cœur du village de St-Jovite.

There are places that stand the test of time because they 
were built with love.   Since 1952, La Maison du Spaghetti has carried the legacy of Richard Barbe, its founder, whose passion and dedication gave life to much more than a restaurant: a true gathering place at the heart of the village of St-Jovite.

Aux côtés de sa famille, Richard a façonné un endroit où l’on cuisinait avec cœur, où l’accueil était sincère et où chaque client était reçu comme un invité. 

Les journées se vivaient dans l’effervescence de la cuisine, les traditions se transmettaient naturellement et le restaurant grandissait au rythme des générations 
qui s’y succédaient.

Alongside his family, Richard shaped a place where food was prepared with care, hospitality came from the heart, and every guest was welcomed like family. Days unfolded in the lively rhythm of the kitchen, traditions were passed down naturally, and the restaurant grew alongside the generations who carried it forward.

Avec le temps, les visages ont changé, mais l’essentiel est demeuré intact. 

En 2024, Johanne et Louise Barbe, les filles de Richard, passent la balle à Ana, qui reprend le flambeau avec le même désir : préserver l’esprit, la générosité et les plats savoureux qui font l’âme de La Maison du Spaghetti.

Over time, faces changed, but what truly matters remained.

In 2024, Johanne et Louise Barbe, Richard’s daughters, passed the torch to Ana, who carries it forward with the same intention: to preserve the spirit, generosity, and comforting flavours that define La Maison du Spaghetti.
